Generations Layout

Here is a layout I created today that will eventually go into a frame and up on my scraproom wall.  This is three generations of ladies in my family.  I also have a photo with four generations that I'll be working on next.  Since I wanted to create this to hang up I went in search for a 1 picture layout sketch and found a really great website that has tons of different layouts to choose from.

My Grandmother is going through a rough time and this is one of last photos we've taken with her before everything began.  I love being able to have a photo with her, my mother, my self and my sister.  Who knows when we'll get another chance.

I used Close to my heart solid colored cardstock for the base and behind the photo.  The rest of the supplies are by BasicGrey.  I used their Curio Collection.  I've had this on hand for quite a while now and just never could seem to find anything to create with it.

Freshly Made Sketches #36

It's been a while since I've even stepped foot into my scrapbook/crafting room.  I went back to work in Feb after a long 5 months off for surgery and just couldn't seem to get the mojo to create.  So, today I decided I was going to make something, anything! as long as I was in my craft room!

I found this great sketch on Freshly Made Sketches and decided to create a card using some older supplies from the scrapbook expo last year.

I haven't used these since last August and I love the colors and patterns.  This card only took me about 5 minutes.  The flowers were already created and put together.

This card is perfect for the wonderful spring/summer weather we are having.  I am hoping to create a lot of cards over the next few days/weeks.  I don't have any on hand anymore!!

Thanks for looking!!

Scrapbook weekend clean up!!

I got to go to a 3 day scrap retreat two weeks ago and boy did I need it.  I got so many layouts done and feel so good that I'm almost caught up!!  I haven't been stamping at home much since I returned but just had to share the mess I had to clean up!!

This first picture is of all the stamp sets and papers I had taken with, and now, have to put away!  The stack of pictures I didn't use was huge!!
This is the box I took to put all my finished layouts in!  I created 65 layouts (1 went to a friend)  I didn't think I had enough page protectors but I did come home with about 6.

I usually just take things and figure out what I'm going to use for each set of pictures when I get to the crop.  This time I picked out what I was going to use for each set of pictures before I went.  I used the plastic bags that CTMH's paper comes in and put pictures, stamp sets, and b&t papers in each bag.

I did take all of my ink pads, embellishments and my cricut with me but seperating everything really made the weekend fun, easy and stress free!!  I can't wait for the next weekend to come!!

Wonder Layout

I just love these pictures of my daughter.  I can still remember this day when we were watching our oldest son play baseball and Abby just couldn't sit still.  She found something so interesting in the tall grass that I was able to get lots of cute pictures of her.

I have scrapped these pictures and already have them in a book but since I am now creating wall art I wanted to put these pics up in a frame to hang.  I love the dreamin' paper from ctmh and knew it was right for these pics.

I created the flowers using the AP cartridge from CTMH.  I'm still learning how to make these but I think they turned out alright.

Recipe:
INK: chocolate
CS: pacifica, honey, cocoa, dreamin' paper pack
ACCESS: colonial white grosgrain, photo hangers, corner metal accents, ap cartridge

My New Scrap Space!

So, I finally have a little time to take pictures and share with you my new scrapbooking space!  I am so excited to have doubled my work area and storage.  My hubby and I spent one whole day painting and moving things from the first floor in our home to the basement.

I had the opportunity to do it when we first moved in back in April 2011 but I didn't want to be stuck in a cold area and freeze all day!  But after working in the small den upstairs I just couldn't handle to lack of storage and workable space.

So, onto the photos!  I took several and hope to have more when I get to decorate the room.  Right now it's just green walls and scrapbook layouts that are framed but not up.

This is where I sit and do all my scrapping
A view of the other half and the second table w/two more chairs
My new shelving from Ikea.  Going to go back and get another on $69.95
This is my misc. stuff that I don't use that often & picture storage.  The two frames will eventually go up on the wall.
 Another view of the space
My shelf w/all my stamps, punches, cricut cartridges, and sizzix
My embossing and cricut station (got this table from the sidewalk)

So, this is my space for now.  So far it's working out just great.  I keep all of my scraps in a filing cabinet in the corner as well as my CTMH business materials.  I can't wait to have some ladies over to scrap and to get my first class/workshop going!

New Year, New Challenges!!

So, I've decided this is the year to start having some personal challenges.  I usually just go with the flow and do what I want.  But I really need to start challenging myself if I'm ever going to get things done and caught up.

I am a member of Let's Scrap and they have some really great groups that you can join.  Two of my favorites are

Scrap Your Stash
100 LO's in 2012

I am really wanting to get some of my old paper and such gone!  But, I don't want to have to sell it or just get rid of it so it's time for me to start scrapping and creating with it.  Now, I will still have to get new CTMH stuff in order to keep my business going and fresh projects out there but I am going to limit myself to how much I can personally purchase.

My second challenge, is to create more layouts.  Scrapbooking is my true passion and I've gotten away from doing it to create cards and such.  This year I am doing 100 layouts in 2012.  I'm hoping to get a lot more than that but it all depends on timing.  I am also setting a personal goal of 300 in 2012 and have a ticker at the top to help me keep track!!

I hope you'll join in and start the new year off with some great new challenges!!
